Current President and CEO, Philip McAuley has spent the last dozen years guiding FJ Construction to its current status among Ottawa’s most respected businesses; a position we value deeply. Situated in Nepean, Ontario, we refurbish existing structures and provide new construction for owners and tenants of office buildings, institutions, retail units and government buildings.
Our latest professional involvements include working with clients such as Cogir Senior Living Ottawa, BGIS, Great West Life, Morguard, Kerryhill, Colonnade Bridgeport, BentallGreenOak, Richcraft,
Welltower, Crown Property Management among other esteemed companies. Our team members truly care about each and every professional undertaking we are awarded and consistently prioritize the timely completion of each project with emphasis on quality craftsmanship and a tidy, safe construction site from start to finish.

OUR TEAM

Philip McAuley / CEO and President

Phil, as President of FJ Construction, is tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of all our projects, while guaranteeing that every team member is focused on delivering the best possible construction experience for our clients.
He has been brought up through the industry and, over time, has progressively moved from working at the site level to Project Manager and Estimator to his current role of President and Owner.
Phil is proud of his leadership of the FJ Construction team and is always a phone call away from his clients and staff and wholly dedicated to the success of each professional endeavour he accepts. The absolute satisfaction of FJ Construction’s clients is top priority for Phil and his team.

Sean McAuley / Project Manager

With 30 years of construction and leading industry experience Sean is acutely aware of what it takes to deliver timely and professional results to our clients.
Having successfully owned and operated his own renovation company for ten years before joining FJ Construction in 2018, Sean is no stranger to the unexpected demands and flexibility needed; specializing in mid to large-scale commercial construction projects.
Having a keen ability to recognize crucial scheduling demands and strategies often while working in sensitive environments, Sean’s knowledge and expertise is evident every step of the way. Currently, Sean continues to meet the needs and complexities of creating and maintaining modern, comfortable living spaces within many active retirement residences throughout the city of Ottawa.
Sean has a proven track record of doing what it takes to hit critical deadlines while simultaneously managing and understanding tight budgets and project timelines.

Rob Bruyère / Health & Safety Officer & Project Manager

Rob, who has recently joined our team here at FJ Construction, brings over 15 years experience in the fields of heavy civil operations, shoring, concrete and building envelope repair. Additionally, he is an expert on demolition work as well as interior commercial and institution restoration which provides him with expansive knowledge within the construction industry.
Rob spent years working at the Alberta Oil Sands gaining further experience in civil operations and immersed in a safety culture like none other. He implements those superb safety standards daily and continues to share his knowledge with co-workers and sub trades to effectively and safely complete any work task while prioritizing deadlines and client satisfaction.
Rob’s unfailing contribution to every assignment consistently reinforces FJ Construction’s “relationships first” approach.

Deb Cordina, proud ‘Mom’ to the lads keeps herself busy with the ‘behind the scenes’ tasks such as manning the website and Instagram page, showcasing completed projects and arranging FJ Construction’s involvement in it’s chosen philanthropic endeavors.

Mary Lou has been with FJ Construction for a dozen years and is at the heart of the company’s professional reputation and subsequent success. She is at the helm of the back end of operations; efficiently handling payables, receivables and maintaining the company’s security, Health and Safety and compliancy standards. She is the backbone of every project we undertake and keeps things running smoothly from an administrative point of view.
